  • 1.  Use second RADIUS server on single SSID

    Dear Experts,

    I have a requirement where I need to configure a new AAA server group under an existing SSID. this is needed for migrating from old CPPM to new cluster. I have seperate AP groups configured for each building however I need to to test out new RADIUS only for a specific AP group without making any changes in the SSID. please share your insights/sample configs/documentation.

    Herman already provided the best recommendation already. I would suggest you to have this sorted out by an HPE Aruba Networking partner.

    If you know your way around Aruba OS, in some bullet-points you would need to do the following:
    1. Configure the new AAA with the new parameters
    2. Copy the existing AP-Group and rename it to something different, to differentiate
    3. Modify the Copied AP-Group AAA Server to the new AAA Server
    4. Change the SSID Name to something else, to differentiate the SSID that you are connecting for your testing AP
    5. Test it. If all is OK, provision the specific APs to that Group.

    Because the virtual-ap connects the SSID and authentication, you may need to duplicate the AAA profile in use today, change to the new authentication servers; then replicate your virtual-ap and in there change the AAA; apply the new virtual-ap to the AP group.

    This has to happen in 'advance mode'; and as all different profiles may be confusing without training, if you feel uncomfortable, I'd recommend to let your HPE Aruba Networking partner to set this up.
