Hi! you simply must update (upgrade) the ArubaOS-CX version running into your Aruba CX 6410 v1 Chassis to meet two important conditions (where the first one - the (a) - is essential):
(a) to support the v2 Access Line Cards (Modules)
(b) to benefit from (some) of the features introduced with the v2 Access Line Cards new Hardware (all the features were/are specifically v2 Chassis and AOS-CX dependant).
IIRC correctly, at the time the new v2 Access Line Cards were presented (I believe it was during mid 2022) - this happened before the new Aruba CX 6400 v2 Chassis was available (during 2023) - the minimum AOS-CX software version to be used to support any of the new v2 Access Line Cards (on 6400 v1 Chassis <- Default Profile is forced) was the AOS-CX 10.09.0010 (but it was suggested to use the AOS-CX 10.09.1050 or a newer builds, which was available at the end of 2022).
Considering that we are now in 2024 (so 2 years and a half later) all the above restrictions about AOS-CX minimum versions to be used should have been definitely lifted since currently Aruba expects that any Aruba CX 6400 v1 (or v2) Chassis to run with latest build of AOS-CX 10.10 (LSR) or latest builds of AOS-CX 10.13 (LSR) or, again, latest builds of AOS-CX 10.14 (SSR)...in any case nothing older that AOS-CX 10.10 (latest builld).
Implementation of v2 Access Line Cards installed into an Aruba CX 6400 v1 Chassis (with AOS-CX 10.10 or 10.11) permits the v1 Chassis to support these features:
- All v1 features (provided by v1 Access Line Cards on v1 Chassis, I add)
- 8 Hardware Queue Support (v1 Access Line Cards do not/will not support this feature, no matter the Chassis version v1/v2 they are eventually installed into)
- Hot Swap without pre-Shutdown (v1 Access Line Cards do not/will not support this featureno matter the Chassis version v1/v2 they are eventually installed into)
- v2 Scale Profiles
- ISSU (version 2) support (starting with AOS-CX 10.11 SSR) <- ISSU (version 1) was available (with some limitations) also using v1 Access Line Cards on v1 Chassis but at least with AOS-CX at 10.10 (LSR).
Implementation of v1 or v2 Access Line Cards installed into an Aruba CX 6400 v1 or v2 Chassis (no matter the AOS-CX version) doesn't support to these features:
- Hardware PTP Boundary Clock capability (only v2 Access Line Cards installed into a v2 Chassis without any v1 Access Line Card support this feature)

Subject: Using 6410 V2 modules in my older 6410 V1 Switch
Can I update my V1 switch to software version 10.10 or later to have it work with V2 modules?
