  • 1.  Using AP-567s to Extend Network to New Building - Ethernet Not Working on Other Side

    Posted Sep 26, 2024 11:14 AM

    Hello,

I am using two Aruba AP-567s to extend the network from an existing building to a new building about 300 feet away. The two access points can talk to one another and network traffic flows from the existing building to the AP on the new building but not past it. The AP-567 on the existing building is connected to an Aruba 2930F and the AP-567 on the new building is connected to an Aruba Instant On 1930. I am new to Aruba access points and Instant On switches. Are there any recommendations to resolve the connectivity issues or where to look first?

    Thank you in advance,

    Dave

Have you taken a look at the interface and uplink profiles assigned to the interface your connecting to? If one is for PoE (ex. E0) and the other for the downlink (ETH1), then definitely make sure you have your profiles set up correctly.

    Hi Dustin,

    Thank you for your response.

These AP-567s only have one ethernet port on them. They get their power over PoE. The settings of the 'default_wired_port_profile' are below. It applies to Ethernet 0/0. I am new to the Aruba access points so please forgive my ignorance.

    NAME    default_wired_port_profile
    SPEED    auto
    DUPLEX    full
    PRIMARY USAGE    employee
    PoE    enabled
    ADMIN STATUS    Up
    CONTENT FILTERING    disabled
    UPLINK    disabled

    Thank you,
    Dave

Are you expecting to carry one or more than one VLAN across the link?

Operating these as IAP or AOS 10?

    Hi Carson,

    Thank you for your response.

I would like to carry more than on VLAN across the link. Right now I am just trying to get a data VLAN but would eventually like to carry a voice VLAN as well.

I am not sure how to answer the IAP or AOS 10 question; both are in Aruba Central and have firmware version 8.10.0.13_90226. Does that answer your question?

    Thank you,
    Dave
