generally for wireless dot1x roaming, the recommendation is to have a single VLAN for best user experience, so the client does not go through DHCP discover/request/renewal that impacts roaming.

Subject: VLAN Assignment for ClearPass with 1 SSID
Hi, im new with ClearPass but I need Help for our Client network setup. my Client has 12 location departments in their University which includes engineering dept , Faculy dept and other departments. the clients want to achieve that if a user will roam in engineering department the user subnet will be in engineering vlan and if the user will roam in faculty dept location the user subnet will be in faculty dept. is there a way that I can possible do this with Clearpass policies and profile ? what I already achieved is if the user role is faculty he will be assigned in faculty vlan. but what clients want to achieved is that if the user role is faculty or etc once the client will stay on a different location he must get a subnet/vlan based on each location once the user will roam.
