    Hello,

I have a VMC Controller and AP setup in my environment. I have a 250 VMC license in my controller and 100 AP, 100 PEF and 100 RFP license. I want to add another VMC in my setup for redundancy purposes. I have the Ova installation file so i can setup the new VMC but i was wondering do i need to buy seperate 250 VMC licenses for the second and passive VMC too? In Clearpass we need to but second platform key license for the subscireber but Access or Onguard licenses are shared. In VMC active-passive setup do this VMC licenses can be shared too? Or will i need to buy same amount of license for the second one just like platform key in Clearpass? I need to know before even considering to purchase this licenses. Thank you.

You can point the second VMC at the first as a license server (or setup database synchronization) and share the licenses between the two appliances, but if the primary appliance is offline for an extended period of time or the secondary is rebooted while the license server is unavailable, you could end up with no usable licenses.

The better option is to install the Mobility Conductor which will act as the license server for all mobility controllers.
