I have a 2920 PoE+ switch that will only have phones attached.  This switch will attach to an 8212zl core switch.  Since the 2920 will only have phones on the switch, I plan to leave all the ports untagged and not run QoS on this switch.  The uplink will be tagged and so will the port that it attaches to in the 8212zl.  The 8212zl has data and voice so I do need to Run QoS on it.  Here's what I plan to do...

-Set the vlan to 'voice' so that tag traffic from the 2920 is set to priority 6.

-Set ports attached to VoIP devices on the core to Source Port QoS.

I figure traffic from VoIP devices will get priority 6 (because of source port QoS) and traffic coming from the switches (going to VoIP devices on the core) will get priority 6 because they are coming from a port on the core switch, which is tagged for the voice vlan.  This will keep me from having to tag every phone and every device.

    Is my thinking correct?
