If you are using 6400 in VSX consider using ACIVE-GATEWAY this eliminates the requirement for VRRP. Providing a single hop gateway and the macs are managed by VSX
However, If you must use VRRP they are mutually exclusive with ACTIVE-GATEWAY on an SVI.
You can Sync VRRP across from what I recall it just enables it (VRRP) on the other chassis, but you need to complete the respective configuration for vlan/ip and VIP etc
Please refer to best practice for ACTIVE_GATEWAY etc

Subject: VRRP in VSX Pair
Good day team Airheads,
I have a question for you. I realise that with VSX one can select what gets synchronised across the switch pair. In my case I have 2 6405 Switches which need to work as a core and provide default gateway functionality to all end devices. Are there any issues with implementing VRRP to achieve this across VSX? Anything I need to be aware of? Still best practice?
Thank you for your support.
Cheerie,
Paul
