How many VRRP instances can be run on the devices below with latest firmware available ? 

JH398A - HPE 5940 4-slot Switch

JQ076A - HPE 5945 4-slot Switch

JH404A - HPE 5950 4-slot Switch

JH262A - HPE 12904E Switch Chassis

                 JH364A - HPE 12904E 7.2Tbps Type H Fabric Module

                 JH668A - HPE 12904E v2 Main Processing Unit

We have currently around 500 VRRP instances running on 2 x HPE 5900AF-48XG-4QSFP+ 7.1.045, Release 2422P01. Both switches have around 250 VRRP intances and we cannot configure more than 255/256 instances per switch. The plan is to replace the HW and run all the VRRP instances on one IRF stack (5945 or 12904E) based on the VRRP limit issue resolution.

Don't think more than 255 instances have been added as enhancements in any of the firmware. Link below for your refernce -

12xxx series supports up to 4096 VRRP instances.
