I use a W200 in my N600C to connect via a NetGear MR814. I've always notice that my throughput was much lower than expected whenever the signal strength drops to anything other than "excellent". I can watch the link test show that the speed is constantly shifting from 11 to 5.5 to 2 or even to 1 Mbps. All of this thrashing about means that the speed throughput is quite low. In a test, a PCMCIA WiFi card that did not have as strong a signal at the same location, successfully provided excellent speed throughput since it chose to auto-fallback to 2 Mbps and stay there rather than thrash about as the W200 does. Can anyone tell me if the W200 driver has known issues with the auto-fallback operation? Tech support has already verified that there is no way to lock out the auto-fallback and set a fixed lower (but efficient) speed. I'm currently using the 7.64.19.309 driver (7/17/2002) since attempts to update to the driver released this March have not been successful.
