    Hi!

I´m wondering if using 305 / 315 with the integrated omni is feasable in a warehouse enviroment with about 10m(about 32 ft) high ceilings.

Using directional antennas is not feasable in this case, the rows are very short and It would require one directional antenna per row pretty much. The forklifts will be at top hight and bottom hight using barcode scanners.

Some material sugests using extarnal omni antennas is required, while some users attest to using just the built-in.

This lists using internal as one "huge mistake" :)

Anyone with practical experience in this ?

What would you use? internal good enough ? and if external omni which  one ? Been looking at ap-ant-16.

The answer is yes, because both of those access points have integrated downtilt antennas.  Please see the presentation here:  http://community.arubanetworks.com/aruba/attachments/aruba/tkb@tkb/92/1/Airheads%20Barcelona%202010%20-%20RF%20Design%20for%20Retail%20Warehousing%20Manufacturing.pdf

    Ok, awesome.

I think this was the statement that confused me from that presentation (I read it before posting aswell):

"Use downtilt omnidirectional antennas when ceilings are above 25 ft (standard low gain / integrated omnis such as AP65 and AP70 OK for lower heights)"

So I guess the fact that the 305-315 are downtilt omni is the key here.

How far of the ground is the integrated downtilt omni a good option,do you know ?

I have seen it used up to 45 feet successfully.
