Greetings forum.
In a recent manual Site Summary report I noticed all of the switches and APs in one of my network had an availability of approximately 86% during Sep 2021.
This is in spite of 0 power outages, planned downtime, and no device related incidents, especially one that would effect the entire site and wipe out ~14% availability.
One of our separate monitoring services that measure the switches and APs over the internet calculated availability at 100%. Meaning that the network devices had access to the internet 100% of the month, otherwise our monitoring service would count them as down.
How can the Device Availability field determine the devices at ~86% uptime when they have had an active internet connection 100% during the same time period?
What determines a device as down or up when Aruba Central calculates the Device Availability? Could the Central report be bugged or does it calculate availability by other metrics, such as counting time periods with 0% network usage as unavailable?
Cheers!
