    Dear Experts, 

    We have a mass deployment of 6000 switches for different sites. We want to configure 2 Vlans, one for data and another one (not default Vlan) for mgmt. When i am using group based configuration i dont see any option to assign any ip address for SVI. I am kinda confused how to approach it so that when the installer connects the switch to router (also acting as dhcp server) what shall happen next? switch should get ip on Vlan 1 and then we access it via cloud and do the device level config?

    There is guidance in the VSG. For such a large amount, using templates may be the way to go, or use templates to get switches connected, then move to UI group.

    Hi,
    The switch will get an an IP address on VLAN 1, SVI on VLAN 1 is enabled as a DHCP client by default so it will get all the parameters from the router, ip address, default gateway, dns server and optional ntp server. You don´t need to assign a static IP address to the switch when it is being managed by Central, the recommendation is to use DHCP.
    The switch will contact Activate first and Activate will point out how to connect to the correct Central cluster (this happens without interaction).
    Just make sure the switch has a license assigned in Greenlake and that is has been assigned to a group in Central.

    If you need to troubleshoot you can enable:

    debug destination buffer
    debug central all
    show debug buffer
