IPad and certificates for 802.1x auth

Hi All,

Anyone been successful in importing a Microsoft PKI certificate on their IPad? We're in the process of trying to get an IPad on the internal network, but having a heak of a time getting the certificate on the IPad. The IPad keeps prompting for password when we try to import it. Basically I requested a certificate from the PKI server with exportable keys then we are following the Aruba white paper to install the cert on the IPad. We try typing in the password we used when we exported the keys....no luck. Not sure if we have the cert template setup correctly or missing a step. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Please consult the datasheet here: http://www.arubanetworks.com/pdf/technology/whitepapers/wp_iPad-in-Enterprise.pdf that describes how to setup IPads with TLS.

Re: IPad and certificates for 802.1x auth

Thanks for the info. We did follow the steps in the pdf you suggestd. We found out that it was a problem with the certificate we initially grabbed. We have since then created a new certificate able to import it into the IPad. Do you happen to know if the IPads only support user based certificates vs computer/device based certificates?

We are currently using computer/device based certificates to authenticate our laptops and would like to do the same with the IPad.
