Error: User does not have permission to access user database service when clicking manage accounts
Error: User <username> does not have permission to access user database service "ClearPass Policy Manager" while accessing Manage Accounts
Noticed below error while clicking "Manage Accounts".
From above screenshot, we can see that user "admin" is logged in as "IT Administrators" (operator profile) on "IT Administrators" operator profile
Navigate to Administration >> Operator Logins >> Profiles. Click "Edit"
Under User Roles for the operator profile, ensure "ClearPass Policy Manager" is selected. This is required to ensure the appropriate operator profile, in this example "IT Administrators" has required permission to view guest users in the database.
For effects to take place, logout from guest operator module and login again. You will now be able to view accounts listed under "Manage Accounts"
NOTE: The above configuration will also allow the user logging into operator profile to manage all user roles: Contractor, Guest and Employee. If the operator profile needs to be restricted for specific user roles, they can be checked.
