Controller-Side Errors

A controller side error is normally a frame that the interface sees that he cannot interpret in part or whole. Make sure the infrastructure side configuration is as clean as possible. If it continues, open a case so that they can interpret what is happening.

MTU size

I had the exact same error - 3.4.2.2 on all 3xxx series boxes about 5 months ago.

The issue manifested itself when Mac's came onto the network.

Changing the MTU to 1500 resolved this for us. Tech support had us disable opportunistic key caching as well (though I doubt this was related).

Same Error - fix in 3.4.2.4

We also have AP that were continuously rebooting everyday. We upgraded our Controller 3 times, and finally Version 3.4.2.4 came to the rescue.

On 3.4.2.3
controller #show ap debug system-status ap-name

Reboot Information
------------------
Reboot caused by kernel page fault at virtual address 00000000, epc == 00000000, ra == 80126420

Before 3.4.2.3 - No reboot information

So what does this tell you?

Is the kernel error the fault of the AP? The controller? Something else?

Thanks!
