Access point Poor Quality

    Hello,

     

    Our user  are complaining for poor performance  of APs and sometimes drop out. Then I checked the dashboard and I saw this Poor quality. I don't know what it means.

     

    Please help me to investigate and fix this issue.

     

    the output below is "show  ap arm state ap-name" for the AP that I found poor quality

    That command does not tell the full story.  Can you post a screenshot of the "Performance Summary" on the Dashboard?

    According the performance summary, most of your network does not seem to be bad.  There might be improvements that can be made, however.

    What regulatory domain is this?  It seems that you have channels 5 and 7 enabled, when it should typically only be 1, 6 and 11..

    I'm sorry that I don't understand about " regulatory domain " that you mentioned.

    I'm newbie for Aruba, please explain me more.

    The regulatory domain is effectively the country that you are in, there will be a regulatory body in your area that determines what channels you can transmit on. In the US it is the FCC, in europe this is ETSI.

    The regulatory domain is not specific to Aruba.  It exist in all wireless LANs.  The regulatory domain would be the country where the WLAN is deployed.

     

    Your controller is using channels 5 and 7 which is causing interference.  It should only be channels 1, 6 and 11.  Please ask  the person who configured the controller so that they make this change.

    Why using channels 5 and 7  will cause interference? and how do you notice my controller should be

    use channel 1, 6 and 11?

    Channels  5 and 7 overlap each other, so they should not be used, because it causes interference and bad performance.   Unfortunately the controller allows the administrator to configure any channels, but to avoid interference, it should be channels 1, 6 and 11.

     

    The channel column in your screenshot here:  http://community.arubanetworks.com/aruba/attachments/aruba/Aruba-Apps/349/1/aruba_dashboard.jpg says what channels your access points are on.
