802.1x Authentication issue

Hi Airheads,

I need help on 802.1x authentication. I'm deploying Aruba 3600 controller and AP 125's, the controller doesn't have any firewall license at all. My question is, is it possible to use 802.1x without PEF? Why I ask is that, inside the AAA Profile the "802.1X Authentication Default Role" option is not showing, so I don't know how to assign a role after authentication. Does the controller automatically assign a "authenticated" role after authentication?

Any reply will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: 802.1x Authentication issue

You can deploy 802.1x without PEF and it will assign a "dummy" role that will pass all traffic.
