Captive Portal authentication on Microsoft NPS

Hello,

I'm trying to authenticate my users throught the Captive Portal using Microsoft NPS on Windows2008R2.

NPS is configured and works with another SSID (that is not using Captive Portal).

When i try to authenticate, the portal answers me 'Authentication Failed' but into the NPS logs and Windows Events, the authentication is successfull !!?!

What's the requirements for the Captive Portal ?
Could you please help me ?

Steve.

In your network policy, make sure "pap" is selected:

Re: Captive Portal authentication on Microsoft NPS

Hello cjoseph,

Many thanks!! it's Working :p

PAP is non-encrypted, it's strange. Are the password transfered in non-encrypted mode into the network ?

From the controller to the radius server, yes. From the client to the controller, if the captive portal is https, it is encrypted.
