IP Routing

I have my captive portal working now. One of the last pieces of the puzzle is routing. My default route has to be ip route for the employee vlan so stuff like internet traffic still goes out our web filter and firewall. For the default ip route of the guest network an Aruba tech said I should put a statement of ip route 66.xx.xx.30 and put it at a higher cost then my default route.

My question before putting that statement in what will force the Nat Pool to use that route instead of the route? Is it because I have firewall'ed off the from the guest network so it sees it can't go out that way and tries to go out the other way?
