Password Recovery

Could I please get some assistance on doing a Password Recovery for my Aruba 651 controller? I haven't turned it on in some time and I have forgotten what the password is. I don't know if it 'cause I'm just havin' a bad day but I can't seem to find a password recovery procedure anywhere.

I think I am running 6.0 code.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Password Recovery

I was just having a bad day. I found it.

To restore the admin password on the controller, follow these steps:
Log in from the console.
Use "password" as the user name and use "forgetme!" as the password.
Enable the mode password as "enable".
In configuration mode, enter the ‘mgmt-user admin root’ command to reset the admin password.
Re-login using the new admin password.
In configuration mode, enter the ‘enable secret’ command to reset the enable mode password.

For example:

User: password
Password: forgetme!
(aruba) >enable
Password: enable
(aruba) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z
(aruba) (config) #mgmt-user admin root
Password:
Re-Type password:
(aruba) (config) #exit
(aruba) #exit
(aruba) >exit

User: admin
Password:
(aruba) >enable
Password: enable
(aruba) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z
(aruba) (config) #enable secret
Password:
Re-Type password:
(aruba) (config) #write memory

Re: Password Recovery

Hello, I just purchased one of these online and I'm trying to reset the password but whenever I attempt to reset the password I get a message saying Device is Private property and it sends me to the prompt.  How do I get pass this?  Thanks.

Re: Password Recovery

You need to do this via the console.
