On April 23, the United States FCC voted unanimously to open the 6 GHz band for use by Wi-Fi and other unlicensed broadband radio systems. We will review the decision, the concurrent Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and preview likely developments in this band in 2021 and beyond.
