I am getting an error message of:

Connecting to Aruba Activate server halted because either ZTP or Activate Provision service is disabled.

When trying to set up my 2530 switch to connect to Central.

I upgraded the Firmware to YB.16.10.0006 and rebooted with no success.  I also see this when I go to System > Aruba Central

    Resolve device.arubanetworks.comSuccess
    Resolve ProxyNA
    Connect to https://device.arubanetworks.comFailure
    Verify Activate CertificateFailure
Register DeviceEST enrollment has failed with status code : non-authenticated
    Central URL ReceivedNone
    Activation KeyNot Available

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hi,

Is the switch assigned a license on central?

Do you have right time? Is NTP allowed to the outside?

Did you try these debugging commands

    debug destination session

    debug ztp
    debug aruba-central

    show activate provision

Proxy Server DNS Lookup : NA
    Activate Connection Status : Failure
Error Reason : EST enrollment has failed with status code :

I would recommend opening a TAC case for this issue as it seems Activate is unable to validate the certificate on this switch.

Was this a TAC only resolution?

Just adding today with 16.10.10 loaded - same result

It has been a while since I got this working but looking back over my notes, I had to get the switch provisioned on Activate first and after it registers there, you have to assign a subscription.  I worked with TAC to get my switch provisioned on Activate.

I hope this helps, good luck.

So the official answer is - TAC must whitelist the older units on Activate - once that's done, they will provision correctly - my newer switches with a TWxxxxxx serial number worked without issue
