Environment : This article applies to Aruba Campus Access Points and Instant Access Points.
Access Points may boot up with the below error message on console :
checksum bad
checksum bad
This occurs if the Access Point is having an invalid or corrupted image. In such cases, recommended action would be to assign IP address, gateway, netmask, and Controller IP address statically in APboot mode of AP and reboot the AP.
Console-in and power-on the Access Point and hit any key to stop autoboot. In the apboot, follow the below-mentioned commands to set the static configuration:
apboot>setenv ipaddr <IP>
apboot>setenv gatewayip <Gateway>
apboot>setenv netmask <Mask>
apboot>setenv master <IP controller>
Use the command "saveenv" to save the configuration.
apboot>saveenv
To verify the saved configuration, use the command "printenv"
apboot>printenv
