Can ARM work without Master Controller or MMS connectivity?

Jul 10, 2014 12:12 PM

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba Mobility Controllers, APs, and ArubaOSversions.

Aruba's intelligent Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) enables APs to operate in the best performing channel and tx-power in its current environment by analyzing its coverage and interference index that it builds as it periodically scans the 802.11 channels in its configured Regulatory Domain.

ARM requires connectivity to either the WMS database on the Master Controller or MMS for it to classify whether devices are valid or not, which affects how the APs calculate their indices.

If there is no connectivity between the APs and the Master Controller or MMS, ARM will not be able to function properly in choosing the best tx-power or channel.
