Does PBR support traffic initiated by external devices to the controller's clients?

May 17, 2016 01:39 PM

Q:

Does PBR support traffic initiated by external devices to the controller's clients?

Can PBR be applied for reverse-sessions originated from external devices?

A:

In AOS 6.4 and 6.5, PBR (Policy based routing) cannot be applied for traffic initiated by external devices (devices from the controller's uplink side). If the a device from controller's external interface sends traffic to the controller's internal users, the return traffic from the client device will take the route as per the routing table. The reverse traffic will not hit the PBR ACL. In AOS 6.4 and 6.5, PBR can be applied only if the traffic is initiated by the controller's clients.

Starting Service-controller release, PBR can be applied for reverse-sessions originating from the external clients.
