How to create an Airgroup domain and configure active domains on controller?

Jun 26, 2014 03:20 PM

This article applies to Aruba Mobility Controllers running ArubaOS version 6.3 and above.

An administrator can configure multiple AirGroup domains for a site-wide deployment. Individual local controller can independently choose relevant multiple AirGroup domains as active to form a multi-controller AirGroup cluster.

Only master controller can create airgroup domains and add a list of member controllers to it. This config is then pushed to local controllers, who can then choose their respective active domains.

Below CLI screenshot shows the configuration to create an airgroup domain and verify it thereafter:

AirGroup allows one or more AirGroup domains to be a part of the AirGroup active-domain list of a controller. A master or local controller may participate in one or more AirGroup cluster based on its active-domain list. The mobility controller must set the corresponding domain as active for the controller to be part of the AirGroup cluster.
