Requirement:

How to install VIA on Ubuntu?



Solution:

Download the VIA application bin file from support.arubanetworks.com

There are certain dependencies for this application on Ubuntu OS Which are as follows.

  1. libqtcore4
  2. libqtgui4
  3. libgnome-keyring0​


Configuration:

To install these dependencies on the Ubuntu machine use the below commands.

 

“sudo apt upgrade”

“sudo apt update”

 

“sudo apt-get install libqtcore4”

 

“sudo apt-get install libqtgui4”

 

“sudo apt-get install libgnome-keyring0 

 

Then change the permissions on the file that was downloaded. Make sure that the "Allow executing file as program" checked.

 

Double ckick the file and then an install page should open.

 

 

 



Verification

Once the install is done VIA should pop up automatically else you can go to the Desktop and launch the application from there. Make sure that you "Trust" the application.
