Q:
How to make the access point learn the System Gateway MAC Address
Scenario:
If we have a situation were the AP's do not have a gateway and only the controller has a Gateway , We can use this option to push the controller learnt System gateway mac to the AP's.
To be done:
We can enable the following option in the Ids to achieve this. This feature will enable the ability of the controller to distribute system learnt MAC addresses and gateway MAC addresses to the AP’s ids wms-general-profile learn-system-wired-macs We should be able to see all the AP learnt system-gw-mac using the following command. (Aruba) #show ap monitor wired-mac ap-name GScott-AP-205 system-gw-mac Test results: We don’t see any Mac initially (Aruba) #show ap monitor wired-mac ap-name Aruba1 system-gw-mac System Gateway Wired MACs Learned by Controller ------------------------------------------------ mac age --- --- Enabled the following option: (config) # ids wms-general-profile (Aruba ) (IDS WMS General Profile) #learn-system-wired-macs (Aruba) #show ap monitor wired-mac ap-name Aruba1 system-gw-mac System Gateway Wired MACs Learned by Controller ------------------------------------------------ mac age --- --- 00:00:0c:9f:f0:02 30s 00:00:0c:9f:f0:04 30s
