In clustering how does hitless failover happens for the RAP?

Q:

In clustering how does hitless failover happens for the RAP?

A:

In clustering, the RAP will get inner IP address from the cluster RAP pool and establish tunnel with all the cluster members with same IP address.

When the RAP fails to the other controller the inner IP address will not change hence there wont be any network disruption.

•How to create rap pool on MM/mynode node:

(ArubaMM) [mynode] (config)#lc-rap-pool <pool_name>  <StartAddress> <EndAddress>

In the below example, we can see the RAP uses same inner IP address for establishing the standby tunnel to the standby AAC.

Controller 1:

(ArubaMM2) #show ap database

Controller 2:

•(ArubaMM3) #show ap database
