Q:

What does "ERR_FRAGMENTATION_REQUIRED" signify?

A:

Under security logs we would see most of the times a phrase stating "ike2.c (842): errorCode = ERR_FRAGMENTATION_REQUIRED".

This is ideally not an error message. When fragmentation is enabled, on receiving IKE_AUTH fragments, this error code is set so that internally fragmentation handling code can be initiated. This is an expected log message.

Example of the error message:

"isakmpd[3625]: <103063> <DBUG> |ike|  172.16.0.3:51655-> ike2.c (842): errorCode = ERR_FRAGMENTATION_REQUIRED"
