What questions should we ask to troubleshoot potential PTT issues?

Product and Software: This article applies to older Spectralink and the latest 8000 series PTT phones.


To troubleshoot issues with Spectralink series PPT phones, follow these steps:


1) Verify that IGMP snooping is enabled on the core and voice VLANs.

2) Use the 'show datapath session table' command to identify the 5000 series ports that should be allowed for PTT. The standard Spectralink ACLs do not account for this type of access.

3) The original Spectralink phones only supported eight channels. The latest 8000 series Spectralink phones will support 25 channels. For the phones to be compatible on the first eight channels, they must be upgraded to the latest firmware.
