Why does renaming the internal AP on the 651 controller not take effect?

Jul 05, 2014 06:00 AM

Product and Software: This article applies to the 651 controller and ArubaOS 3.4

Aruba 651 series mobility controllers have an internal AP that may require a controller reboot for changes to take effect. The internal AP in the 651 controller uses the switch IP address as its IP address. If an AP is renamed or moved to different group, it needs to be rebooted. External APs reboot automatically in this situation. But for internal APs, the controller must be rebooted for these changes to take effect.

If you use WebUI to provision the internal AP, you are prompted to reboot the controller for changes to take effect.
