How to find the Airwave server that is managing or monitoring the Instant AP?


Environment : This article applies to Aruba Instant Access Points.


In large enterprises and universities, Instant clusters are generally managed centrally by Airwave, so that monitoring, administration, and changing configuration is easily handled.

Certain times, for an immediate change, administrator would like to know find out which Airwave server is managing a particular Instant cluster or the virtual controller. When logged in Instant GUI to look for Airwave server IP address, IAP would deny and throws an error saying it is being managed, as shown below:


In this situation, much easier way is to click on the "Airwave" which is displayed at the very bottom of the screen, as shown below:

This would immediately open up the GUI login page for the particular Airwave server that is managing the Instant AP, thus allowing the administrator to easily identify and login into the right airwave server.

Another way would be to SSH in to virtual controller and issuing the below command:
