How do I disable hard resetting with the reset button on IAPs?

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba Instant platforms and versions.


IAPs that have a serial port have a "disable_reset_button" variable. When this variable is set to "yes", if a user presses the reset button, the IAP is not reset to factory defaults. The user must gain access to the serial port and remove that variable.

 

Commands in apboot:

 

purge

setenv disable_reset_button yes

save

boot

 

To re-enable the reset button, issue these commands.

 

purge

save

boot
