How to configure Backup AMP (Airwave Management Platform) Server information in Aruba Instant APs?

Jul 03, 2014 03:53 PM

This article contains:

a. Enhancements made in OS version 6.1.3.4-3.1 related to AMP redundancy
b. Configuration of backup AMP on IAP

With OS version 6.1.3.4-3.1, AMP redundancy has been added wherein, we can configure a backup Airwave server IP in the web UI, in addition to the existing Airwave server. If the primary AMP goes down IAP will switch over to the backup server.
The backup airwave server must be configured to use the same ams-identity as the primary, or the IAP will reject the backup airwave server.

Environment : This article applies to all the IAP running on OS version 6.1.3.4-3.1.x.x. Any IAP running any prior version will not have this feature.

From WebUI:

  1. Navigate to Settings> Admin> Add the backup server IP address
  2. Click on OK at the bottom to save the changes.

From CLI:

IAP# configure terminal
IAP (config) # ams-backup-ip 192.168.15.203
