How to configure IAP to boot from TFTP Server?

This article details on how to boot IAP by loading InstantOS software from a TFTP Server. 

 

Environment : This article applies to all Aruba Instant Access Points.

 

 

Below are the steps to configure IAP to boot from TFTP Server:
  1. With a console connection established, power-on and the IAP
  2. Hit any key at the autoboot prompt to enter into apboot>  mode
  3. Connect the Eth0 port to network with a DHCP server serving the clients.
  4. Configure as shows in the below image:

ServerIP is the IP address of the TFTP Server.

"bootcmd  tftpboot"  informs the IAP to use TFTP server to load the InstantOS image.

"bootfile" is the name of the InstantOS image file saved on the TFTP server.

"saveenv"  save the configuration

"reset" reboots the IAP with the configured settings

Once the IAP reboots, we should see that IAP is able to contact the TFTP server and downlaod the specified bootfile.
