Question

How to find the management mode of an IAP cluster from virtual controllers command line interface?

Environment: This article applies to Aruba Instant Access Points.

Answer

For centralized control and for ease of configuration, Instant architecture allows us manage Instant clusters in different, as listed below:

  • Locally Managed by Virtual Controller

  • Aruba Central

  • Aruba Ariwave Management Portal (AMP)

Especially when mutilple IAP cluster are being managed across university or a campus, administrator would quickly like to know the management mode of a cluster from a command line instead of logging into the web interface of the Virtual Controller (VC). The CLI command shown below would do the same:

"Show ap debug athena"
