IAP behavior with Client Match , Band steering and Load balancing

Jun 02, 2015 04:06 AM

Q:

What happens if Client Match, Bandsteering and Load Balancing are enabled at the same time on IAP?

A:

With only band steering and/or Spectrum Load Balancing enabled on the IAP (but not client match), IAP will steer clients by refusing to respond to probe requests.

If client match is also enabled then client match will also attempt to steer clients by using de-auth (and 11v in the future).

Client Match is not mandatory for the IAP.

On the IAP, band steering and spectrum load balancing can be enabled and disabled independent of client match.
