Q: Why does activate shows different mac address in the flied "Controller", when actual mac address of the device is already displayed in the field "Mac"?
A: Activate can be used to pull several information about the device in the cluster such as it's mode, part number, device's mac address using it's serial number or vice versa, cluster size, activate id, firmware information, etc. The field "Controller" on activate always displays the VC's mac address whereas the field "Mac" will always show the mac address of the device WLAN user is searching for.
In the below example we used a slave AP's serial number to find it's information but it also shows the VC's mac address in the field "Controller" to which it's forming a cluster. Using this WLAN user can get more information about the VC by searching it's mac address again on activate.

Now when searched using VC's MAC address, we got all the details about the VC and the field "Controller" has the same mac address as the field "Mac". This is the only scenario mac address in the field "Mac" and "Controller" will be same.
