Q:

What is the "device password" prompt that shows up as I login to Aruba Central account?

A:

As a user login's into account, Aruba Central presents a "device password' dialog box. As shown below:

By default , an IAP would come with default username and password as:  admin/admin.  Having default passwords for the IAP clusters, encourage security breach causing shutdown to productions clusters.  Therefore, to meet compliance with security standards, aruba central mandates the user to change the password for the default group and also for every other group that the user creates. This "device password" would then replaces the administrator password of the IAP cluster, when they come up in the respective group.

NOTE:  One can always change this password from Aruba Central. Being in that particular group, navigate to Wireless configuration -> System -> Admin
