Good day need some advice please?

We have 82 access points of which two are 305, one 275 and the rest 205's running Instant Virtual Controller 6.5.4.9

We purchased two 375 outdoor access point to add to the cluster since we cannot get 275 but the firmware is not compatible.

How will we be able to add them?

The 375 series need instantOS 8.3 to function (That is the minimum OS version required). You would need to upgrade your existing infrastucture to 8.3 if you would like to add them to the same cluster.

I'd say schedule a maintenance window and upgrade the cluster to 8.3 to be able to include the 375 into your network.

But, the IAP-205 does not support anything past Instant 6.5.  You cannot upgrade without losing your IAP-205s:

That is correct; when we bought the 305 I made sure that they will be able to be on the same firmware. I just stupidly assumed that the 375 would be the same, so I now need to return them and get money back or I’m thinking of putting the 375 on their own VLAN and run two separate systems.

What do you think will this work as we do have the need for the outside AP’s

How many outdoor APs do you need to deploy?

The problem is that the 205's are on the highest version firmware they can go 6.5 and the 375 is on it lowest it can go 8.0 if I upgrade all to 8.0 I will loose all the 205's I have put the 375's on there own VLAN with there own setup pulled them in to a new group in Airwave and seem to be working fine I'm just still doing some test but so var it all looks good. Thanks
