As the title says Im using the newest version of both Airwave and Instant firmware. Visual RF show all client in one spot way off the map. When I select an AP and look at the radio is just says ERROR.   In the Visual RF logs im seeing "not defined in catalog" Errors. Any ideas how I can get this to work or am I going to have to wait for an update?

I would recommend logging this with the TAC. They may not even be aware of the issue?

QA is working on reproducing.  In our setup, it was observed that after an hour, the status changed from 'error' to 'ok'.  Are you seeing the same in your setup?  If not, please send support a copy of /var/log/visualrf/visualrf.log for them to file a defect.

Closing the loop on this.  The actual issue is the TXpower value that VisualRF was trying to consume.  Support should have provided a patch and that should have resolved the issue.

I have the same issue in 7.7.7 and 6.2.1.0-3.4.0.0_39086

Easy way to get the patch is to email support and ask for the patch to DE16539.  I'll attach the patch to the defect that way they'll have easy access.

Thanks rgin, that patch cleared it right up.  Im having some issues with location accuracy but hopefully getting my walls dialed in and RTLS enabled will take care of it.

The patch fixed my issues as well. Not immediately though -- apparently VisualRF needed some time to discuss things with the iAPs.

Looked un-fixed right after restarting services, looks great this morning.

    Thanks for the tip rgin!

msabin,  how is your location accuracy?  I have no erros on Visual RF itself but my clients still jump all over the place and are often way off the map. In the logs Im seeing lots of errors like this

ERROR HPAirBus[1] com.airwave.model.AccessPointRadio unable to set xmit dBm from xmit value[48 dBm]

Generally out locations are pretty good -- but we get exceptions where several clients are huddled off to the side of the page looking misplaced.

We're running iAP code: 6.2.1.0-3.4.0.0_39086 at most sites in case that changes the discussion (assuming that older iAP code works better with Airwave than newer iAP code)

All of my Ap's are on 6.3.1.1-4.0.0.1_41049

I get not accuracy at all, clients are either grouped in a corrner orshow up randomly accors the building from where they should be.

I turned on RTLS hoping to improve accuracy but it doeent seem to make any difference.

Is there anyone else running IAP225 and Airwave?

We're turning up a cluster on 4.0.0.1 in a new building on Monday -- I'll report back with our observations.

    Matthew,

How did this go for you? I ended up doing a backup of my instant config and earasing everything and starting over. Accuracy is still bad but clients are at least moving around now rather than staying stuck up in the corrner.

Sorry, the week got a bit hectic.

I've just checked and the three hosts online rightn now in the new office (7 iAP 105) show more-or-less correctly in their offices, and the last 8-hours show movement to meeting rooms and lunch rooms about as I'd expect.

I'll have to go over and train a few locations to improve accuracy, but it looks pretty good.
