Apple TV & IAP on different Vlan

    Below is the scenario

    L2 switch

    Apple TV - Vlan 10

    IAP - Vlan 20

    Clients - Vlan 20

For this setup to work, do I need to enable mDNS between Vlans on switch?

How will IAP listen to mDNS advertisement from Apple TV on different vlan even we enable Airgroup feature since multicast do not cross Vlans?

Not really. What I am trying to understand is how does mDNS pass through VLAN so that IAP learns the bonjour advertisements from Apple TV? If Apple TV is on same VLAN as IAP then I can see how but by default VLAN stops all Multicast & broadcast.

Sounds like your AppleTV might be wired connection? If so the VLAN of your AppleTV must be trunked to the IAP for it to get the mDNS packets.
