    hi community,

we have some iap 103 firmware Instant_Pegasus_6.4.2.0-4.1.1.0 running.

I have 3 ssids on it, at all ssids the internal captive portal works but at the guest ssid it don´t work.

I configured the captive portal with internal authentivated, but the instant can not redireict after the wifi connention to the captive portal.

This ssid is on an extra guest vlan with only internet access...

    what ist wrong.

why can the iap not redirect me to the captive portal?

Are you able to get an IP address ?

What DNS IP are you getting on that VLAN ?

Is this happens on any type of device ?

Are you able to get an IP address ? yes, right ip address...

What DNS IP are you getting on that VLAN ? an  dns in  the internet (8.8.8.8)

Is this happens on any type of device ? yes.

Do you have any restrictions on your ACL ?

Can you do dns lookups when connected?  That is crucial for the captive portal to work.

i can not test the lookup now.

    why is this important?

it redirects you internal to the securelogin.arubanetwork... right?

If i can not do nslookup, what must I do?

The DNS response from 8.8.8.8 is hijacked and redirected to the internal CP.

Try using 1.1.1.1 in the Guest browser URL.  Instant will redirect any IP address in the URL to the internal CP so you can verify that the CP is working.

ok, when I type 1.1.1.1 in the browser it don´t work.

maybe the company firewall blocks the response from the dns server... I must test this.

If 1.1.1.1 doesn't work then something else is wrong.....this takes DNS out of the picture.

One thing you could do to test is use a virtual assigned IP

What do you mean with virtual IP?

In the VLAN settings of your SSID there's an option to use network assigned or virtual controller assignment this option will src-nat all your traffic
