We are demo'in a few of the AP 105's..they seem nice and easy to setup.  I do have a question, if the AP that is setup for a virtual controller goes down, does the other AP become the controller?  or do I lose  all AP's associated with that Virtual controller?

There is a master election protocol that controls who is the Virtual Controller that is also used for failover to a different VC if your first one goes down. Everything should keep working.

What happens if I have layer 3 (routed) connection between two IAP's. Does a master election protocol works and everybody knows who is Virtual Controller?

They will form different Virtual controllers....

They need to be in the same layer 2 vlan.

    Cheers
