Asterisk next to an AP

Hello whats does the asterisk mean next to an AP, I've noticed it moved between APs

Re: Asterisk next to an AP

The asterisk indicates the AP that has the Virtual Controller (VC) role.

The VC should not move to another AP, unless you reboot the virtual controller (or the cluster), in that case, a re-election takes place and another available AP will become the VC. If it moves during normal operations, please collect tech-support and open a case with your partner or the Aruba TAC.

If you have urgent issues, please contact your Aruba partner or Aruba TAC (click for contact details).

Re: Asterisk next to an AP

to add to the reply you already received... you can set an AP to be the "preferred master" in the same place you set a static IP.  just make sure you only have 1 preferred master.  as long as the preferred master is online, it should always have the asterisk.
