Can IAP : 93, 105, 205 join Instant together?

    environment – A number of Aruba 93 and 1 of Aruba 105 in the same network (configure as virtual controller), The 205 can’t discovery by virtual controller

    AP 93 firmware: 6.1.3.1-3.0.0.2_34479
    AP 205 firmware: 6.4.2.6-4.1.1.6_50009

    Is it firmware problem or model issue?

    is there any way to make them join together?

    All the IAPs need to be running the same level of code and if you have an IAP93 your cluster will be limit by 16 IAPs that can be added to the cluster at the same time

    As Vfabien said above, they all need to be running the same firmware.  You can boot them separately, connect to the Instant SSID and upgrade each one to 4.1.1.11 manually using the software here:  http://support.arubanetworks.com/LifetimeWarrantySoftware/tabid/121/DMXModule/661/EntryId/20377/Default.aspx

     

    Note:  The AP-93 can only run up to 4.1.1.11.  It cannot run 4.2.x.x software; it is end of life..

    Or 4.1.1.12 (which is the latest as of 3/1/2016)

    We've been running 93, 105, 205 together in a few of our stores while we prepare to pahes the last of the 93s out of service.

    Newer clients (which can use 205 available functions) don't roam well onto the 93, they roam somewhat better onto the 105, but notice that higher speeds aren't available

    The legacy clients also seem to like the 205 better, but work fine with 93/105.
