Convert AP-325 to IAP-325

Hi, I am pretty new to this and need some help.

I am IT tech at a big school and we have around 100 IAP-305 but some problem in certain areas. Therefore I have bought in two AP-325 and two AP-335 but by mistake instead of Instant AP:s.

As I understand it is now from some months ago possible to convert them to IAP:s. I do not have a controller because they are centralized managed. Can this be done without a controller? I have IAP-325:s can I use one of them as a controller to convert the AP:s? I can use the app Bluconsole to acess the AP:s but I do not know if I can use it for this and how?

Can anyone support with some ideas or point to some instructions?

Thanks in advance

Re: Convert AP-325 to IAP-325

There is no supported method of converting an AP to an IAP. You would need a controller to use the AP model.

There is a few select 3xx series APs which are Unified APs (and subsequent models after) which are Unified APs.

Re: Convert AP-325 to IAP-325

It would have to be an IAP model in the first instance. Unless it was purchased as an IAP-325 it cannot be converted to an IAP.

Easiest way to tell is to check the sitcker on the back, it would have IAP. Here's also the datasheet so you can check the part number.

Re: Convert AP-325 to IAP-325

Thanks for your answer.

Ok unified, can mine be applicable bought in two months ago?

I read this:

.. and thought that could be doable in my case?
