Hi all,

Is there a way to disable the 5GHz Radio in a dual-radio IAP (for example IAP-103)?

I set only 2.4GHz band on my SSID, but I want to turn off completely the 5GHz Radio.

You can in the preferred band setting.

Alternatively, if you only want to do that on certain APs, you can make the 5GHz radio to be a monitor as below.

I had yet set the preferred band on 2.4GHz. But this option makes the 5GHz led of my IAP Yellow, and as it is described in the IAP Installation Guide this means "5 Ghz radio enabled in non-HT WLAN mode".

The IG says that the 5GHz Radio is disable if this led is OFF.

I will try your latter suggestion.

The radios cannot be completely disabled (as in powered off).  They can only be taken out of client service as Michael mentioned.

Why don't you choose which band to use from the network.

In red, you can choose between ALL, 2.4 Ghz or 5Ghz.

Yes Pasquale, as I wrote in the first message I had just set this parameters. But like the others options suggested in this discussion, it doesn't d completely disable the radio.

I see. Then it would seem there is no way to completely disable.

You can possibly post an enhancement request in order to get this feature added.

I have an IAP 205 which I am trying to configure. It was broadcasting the SSIDs well however after I upgraded the OS to 6.5.4 the leds of the 2.4ghz and 5ghz radios are not going green. There are always off!
