Hi, I'm currently reading about Airtime Fairness Mode in Instant 8.5.0.x User's Guide.

I wonder what mode is better for .ac and .ax networks that also server a/b/g/n clients. Fair Access mode is clear to me, but I cannot find any reference on how Preferred Access works for .ac and .ax clients since the guide's description only mentions up to .n clients.

Does anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks in advance.

it depends on your client mix.

Fair Access, assigns Airtime evenly across all the clients.
Preferred Access, historically assigns more airtime for 11n/ac clients as compared to 11a/g clients.

For WiFi6, we have a unique feature called Air Slice, that allocates dedicated RUs for specific traffic. check this link that talk about it.

Thank you for your reply, does this mean that Preferred Access' ratio of 16:4:1, of which 16 is stated to be for .n clients, also assigns 16 for .ac clients?
